VESTAL (WBNG) -- On Wednesday night, the Binghamton men and women basketball teams topped UMBC to earn their first conference wins of the season.
The Binghamton men hosted the Retrievers, coming out on top 79-75. Freshman Brenton Mills finished with a game-high 22 points while sophomore Sam Sessoms added 20. Freshman George Tinsley had 13 rebounds.
Final score:
Binghamton - 79 (7-8, 1-1), UMBC - 75 (7-10, 0-2)
The men take on UMass Lowell on the road Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
As for the Binghamton women, they earned their first conference win in decisive fashion, topping the Retrievers 61-43. Kai Moon led the team with 14 points, while Carly Boland and Denai Bowman added 10 a piece. The Bearcats held UMBC's leading scorer Te'yJah Oliver to a season-low eight points.

UMBC - 43 (4-10, 0-3) Binghamton - 61 (12-3 1-1)
The women host UMass Lowell Saturday at 2 p.m.
