Packers beat Lions, earn NFC No. 2 seed in playoffs - WKOW

DETROIT (AP) -- Mason Crosby made a 33-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Green Bay Packers to a 23-20 win over the Detroit Lions to earn a first-round bye. The Packers fell behind by two touchdowns in the second quarter. They did not lead until Crosby made his second game-winning kick against Detroit this season. The Lions closed the season with nine straight losses for their longest losing streak in a season since going 0-16 in 2008. Green Bay won despite Aaron Rodgers going 27 of 55 for 323 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- Already in the playoffs for the first time since 2016, the Packers have a lot to play for when they travel to Detroit to face the Lions at noon Sunday.

Where they end up in the NFC playoff seeding picture depends partly on how they play today, and partly on the outcome of other games.

First, the Packers need to take care of business against the Lions. A win will guarantee the Packers at least a No. 2 seed, and a first-round bye.

Even with a loss to the Lions, the Packers would stay in the No. 2 spot with a Panthers' win over the Saints. Otherwise, the Packers drop to the No. 3 seed.

Then, the Seahawks need to beat the 49ers, which would vault the Packers into the No. 1 spot and assure them of home games at Lambeau throughout the playoffs.

The Seahawk-49ers play the Sunday night game with a 7:20 p.m. kickoff.

So, Packers fans, here's what you need to do Sunday: root for the Packers and against New Orleans and the 49ers.
